Ben 10: Alien Swarm - DVD Review

By Ed Grant -- Video Business, 12/7/2009

CARTOON NETWORK/WARNER
Street: Dec. 1
Prebook: now
> Live-action feature version of a popular Cartoon Network series.

The popular Cartoon Network animated series Ben 10 enters a new dimension in this live-action feature directed by Bill and Ted’s Alex Winter. The lead teen trio faces numerous dangers in this adventure, as they try to prevent evil aliens from turning humans into zombies. Plotting and characterization are nearly nil here, but tweens and teens won’t complain when there are cool cars, kung-fu battles, aliens and zombies on display.

Shelf Talk: A thorough marketing campaign from Cartoon Network will promote this release. The numerous tie-in products include an action figure pack, an interactive game, a Scholastic storybook, Lego action figures, digital cameras, MP3 players and even sports balls and equipment.

Sci-fi action, color, NR (nothing offensive), 70 min., DVD $19.97
Extras: featurette, music video
Director: Alex Winter
First Run: Cartoon Network, Nov. 2009
