A special release from the Nick Jr. series Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! will be singing on DVD soon. American Idol can step aside for an animated girl group hosting Wubb Idol. Extras on the DVD include coloring and activity sheets, music videos, games, previously unreleased footage and more. The release will be supported by a million-dollar marketing campaign generating impressions on TV and in magazines including Parents and People. Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! Wubb Idol ANCHOR BAY/STARZ prebook 9-10; DVD $16.98 Children’s: Featuring Beyoncé Knowles, this film is about popular girl group The Wubb Girlz coming to host the “Wuzzleburg Idol” talent show.

A matter of Wallace & Gromit

Hit Entertainment and Lionsgate are bringing the complete collection of Wallace & Gromit stop-motion animation short films from the U.K. to stores here. They also will release newest film A Matter of Loaf and Death. The new title will be supported by a marketing campaign including sneak peeks on fan Web sites, online exclusives and other promotions. Special features on both releases will include commentaries, featurettes, a game demo, bonus episodes and more. Packaging on the four-disc set features the pair in 3D molded forms. The first three Wallace & Gromit short films were previously available on DVD from Hit, and earlier DreamWorks Animation; Hit is now the distributor, through Lionsgate, for titles from Wallace & Gromit producer Aardman Animations. Hit also has repackaged Bob the Builder: Christmas to Remember—The Movie, in which Bob teams with Elton John, who is featured in a story that centers on building a stage for a Christmas concert. Clone Commandos storm DVD

Four episodes from the new version of the Cartoon Network series Star Wars: The Clone Wars are coming to DVD under the title Clone Commandos from Warner Home Video and Lucasfilm. The release, which includes the “Ryloth” arc, arrives Sept. 15. Clone Commandos follows the release of the first collection from Star Wars: The Clone Wars from Warner. Lucasfilm also is working on a DVD and Blu-ray set of the new series’ entire first season, expected later in the year. —C.S.
