Admission Zen

By Ed Hulse -- Video Business, 5/26/2008

COLLEGE PATHWAYS (www.college-pathways.com)
Available now
> Step-by-step tutorial for negotiating the college-admission process.

College Pathways president Stephen Burleigh hosts this guide to making the transition from high school to college, breaking down a process that is often unnecessarily complicated and stressful. He outlines a common-sense approach to assessing goals, planning a curriculum, finding colleges that are a good fit, evaluating early-decision options, applying for financial aid and more. The hour-long program incorporates a little hokum in the form of animated characters (totally extraneous, in our opinion) but otherwise offers valuable tips and insights.

Shelf Talk: This DVD is targeted to a very specific constituency—high school students planning to apply to colleges. If properly promoted to that group, it should do extremely well, as there’s nothing quite like it in the market.

Instructional, color, NR (nothing offensive), 68 min., DVD $24.95
